We had a truly rainy April here in the south. As I write this, it’s been raining for THREE days. My kids are going crazy, my dogs refuse to go outside, and my cat stares forlornly out the window (like most of us). But, that said, I had a great reading month, with some really amazing five-star reads. Check them out below!
It’s hard to believe March is over! The days go slow but the years, or in this case the months, go quick. I read 6 books in March, taking me to worlds with Napoleonic era dragons, another dragon who doesn’t eat the girls he takes, and a futuristic France where a girl meets a wolf. What is this madness? Read on to find out.
I started drafting a new project in February, but that didn’t stop me from reading some really wonderful books. It was a month of sea monsters, futuristic pirates, cross-dressing guards, and cyborgs for me. Read on for more info, and don’t forget to follow me on Twitter for regular updates throughout the month!
I took a little hiatus in November and December, but got back into the swing of things in January. I dedicated much of the month to planning my latest writing project, and ended up reading several wonderful resources on writing. I also read a few autobiographies, which was definitely a step outside the norm for me. Check out my January reads below!
September was a moderate reading month for me, with six books finished. But they were good books – a mix of indies and blockbusters and a historical fiction that blew me away. Read on to see what I read and what I thought!
My goal this year is to read 100 books, and with another great reading month under my belt, my total for 2016 so far is 75. I am right on track to finish on time. So what got me there this month? Keep reading to find out!
Although I prefer cold weather over hot, July is easily one of my favorite months. It epitomizes summer for me – the fourth of July holiday, vacation at the beach, days at the pool. My daughter started first grade at the end of the month, and it’s so exciting to read with her now that she can read some on her own. Speaking of reading, it was another excellent reading month for me, with a total of 8 full length novels and two short stories under my belt. Read on to find out what I read and what I thought.
I had another great reading month in June, with nine (almost ten) books finished, making my yearly total 55 so far. I’m well on my way to my goal of 100. Keep reading to see what I read, and what I thought.
May was a great month. I read nine books and really enjoyed most of them. Check out my mini-reviews below, and my June TBR.
I’m going to be honest – April was a weird month for me. I spent the rest of the year tearing through books, about 9 or 10 a month. But this month, I hit what felt like a creative wall. Between revisions for “The Runaway Queen,” and starting a new project for Camp Nanowrimo, I had a hard time reading. I also had a sick kid on Book Club night, so I didn’t get to go talk about Rebel Belle last month, which was a real bummer.
I did read a couple of great books, and I also started beta reading through Goodreads, which has been a fun adventure that I’ll save for another post. So while the list is shorter this month, it has some quality reads in it. I also discovered a couple of awesome podcasts during my reading slump that I’ll write about below.
