Although I prefer cold weather over hot, July is easily one of my favorite months. It epitomizes summer for me – the fourth of July holiday, vacation at the beach, days at the pool. My daughter started first grade at the end of the month, and it’s so exciting to read with her now that she can read some on her own. Speaking of reading, it was another excellent reading month for me, with a total of 8 full length novels and two short stories under my belt. Read on to find out what I read and what I thought.

I don’t know where you are, but here in the southern US, we are sweltering. I only venture outside to hunt for some Pokémon now and then, so it gives me plenty of time to hang out on top of an air conditioner vent and work on my TBR. Today’s Writer Wednesday features indie author Patrick Hodges, who has three contemporary books out on Amazon (the first one is free right now!) and is working on an intriguing fantasy series. Read more about this busy author and follow him on Twitter and Facebook for updates on his future releases.
Surprise Saturday post! I connected with fellow YA author, Karen Tomlinson, through Facebook where we share a mutual love for release parties. Karen is the author of The Guardians and The Goddess series of Young Adult fantasy books. The first book, A Bond of Venom and Magic, will be released October 14, 2016, and I am so excited to be involved in her cover reveal! I think animated covers are beautiful, and this one is no exception.
