We had a truly rainy April here in the south. As I write this, it’s been raining for THREE days. My kids are going crazy, my dogs refuse to go outside, and my cat stares forlornly out the window (like most of us). But, that said, I had a great reading month, with some really amazing five-star reads. Check them out below!
It’s hard to believe March is over! The days go slow but the years, or in this case the months, go quick. I read 6 books in March, taking me to worlds with Napoleonic era dragons, another dragon who doesn’t eat the girls he takes, and a futuristic France where a girl meets a wolf. What is this madness? Read on to find out.
I started drafting a new project in February, but that didn’t stop me from reading some really wonderful books. It was a month of sea monsters, futuristic pirates, cross-dressing guards, and cyborgs for me. Read on for more info, and don’t forget to follow me on Twitter for regular updates throughout the month!
I’m super-excited about today’s writer – Adelle Yeung. I found this indie author via an online Facebook party, and won some of her beautiful bookmarks, which I keep stored safely on my bookshelf away from sticky hands and dog mouths. Her debut, The Starriest Summer, is the first in a YA fantasy trilogy (read my review here). She answers my nosy questions and shares an excerpt with us below!
On Monday, I talked about one of my recent reads, A Bond of Venom & Magic by Karen Tomlinson. Today I am so excited to have her here on Writer Wednesday to talk about her debut novel, and to pick her brain about world-building. Finally, don’t forget to join Karen and other great authors at the release party on Facebook.
October is going to be a fun month! I have features with four amazing indie authors, and the book reviews to go along with them. First up is Karen Tomlinson, whose debut book, A Bond of Venom & Magic, comes out on October 14th. I had the pleasure of reading an ARC, and can’t wait to share my thoughts with you.
Today’s writer is a mom, a movie buff, a former bodybuilder, and an author. Cindy Dorminy’s debut, Tuned Into You, is out now. Read her Q&A below, and make sure you check out her book and follow her on social media. All the links you need are below!
I’ve talked before about the balancing act required when you write, but today’s featured author, T.A. Hernandez, takes the cake. She answers my questions below about how she does it as a writer, a mother, a beta reader, and a student, and shares some original artwork and info on her books below.
My goal this year is to read 100 books, and with another great reading month under my belt, my total for 2016 so far is 75. I am right on track to finish on time. So what got me there this month? Keep reading to find out!
I am so excited to welcome YA indie author Megan Crewe on today’s Writer Wednesday feature! Don’t miss my earlier review of her upcoming novel, A Mortal Song, and check out her Q&A below as well as the links to her books. There’s a sweet deal going on if you pre-order A Mortal Song, so don’t miss it!
